Week of October 16th in Science

Dear School Family,

Progress Reports will be sent home with the students on Tuesday. Please make sure to look over your child's grades and behavior.  If you have any questions, make sure to contact the teacher quickly so any problems can be corrected.

Friday, October 20th is a staff development day.  Students will have a holiday.  The teachers are at MPMS for campus specific training.

Our new unit is about the human body and how the systems work together.  At the end of this unit, students need to know the job (or function) of each of the 11 systems, the major organs, and how the systems work together.  We will work with each of the systems to understand the functions for a couple of days.  Usually, we will take a few notes about the system and then do an activity seeing how each system works.  The best way to know if your child understands what is being learned at school is to ask what system we are learning that day, what it's function is, and what are the major organs.  If your child can explain that to you, then she or he is learning.
