Week of March 20th in Science
Dear School Family,
March 20th is the first day of spring. Happy Spring!!
If your child missed science the day before spring break, March 10th, they missed the assessment for our systems unit. The activity will take about 30 minutes to complete and is a major grade. Your child will need to make up the assignment during tutorials this Monday (3/20) or Tuesday (3/21) after school. Please email me to tell me which day is better for you. Pick up will be at 4:15 pm in the front of the school.
I am moving the unit 8 test to Thursday, March 23rd. We got about a day behind the other classes with the HELM unit and I don't want the children to miss the labs that need to be done to give the material we learned some support. The test will cover systems and adaptations.
This big question the students will want to know is, "did we get a new seating chart?" and the answer is yes. :)
This week in science -
Monday - March 20th - three mini labs; circulatory, respiratory, and digestive systems
Tuesday - Adaptations Lab
Wednesday - Review for Unit 8 Test
Thursday - Unit 8 Test
Friday - Introduction to Organic Chemistry (don't worry we just look at the basics)
STAAR Writing test is March 28th. Please make sure that your child does not have any doctors appointments that day. Also, lunches will not be delivered. I wanted to give your family notification so that a meal could be packed and sent with your child that morning. Also, this would be the time to think about finding a good book to read, as the children will not have access to any computers or cell phones during the testing.
Thank you for sharing your child with me,
7th Grade Science Teacher
