Digital Media Letter to Parents/Guardians on 10/1/17
Dear Parents & Guardians:
Welcome to the 2nd week of the Second Six Weeks of school!
I want to thank all of you that attended our Open House last week. It was great meeting all of you. Many of you asked about items your child needs for class. All students should have a class binder that stays in the classroom, pencils, pens, a ruler, map pencils/crayons/markers (not Sharpies) that they have chosen to use, glue, and notebook paper for all of their classes. Donations of the above supplies for students who are unable to afford to purchase their own and can be used in general classroom supplies would be greatly appreciated. Also donations of Kleenex and hand sanitizer would be fantastic classroom donations. Students will have a binder check this week to insure they are organizing their work correctly and completing assignments.
This will be a busy week of learning in our class as students continue to explore the parts of a camera and how to take photos using specific camera angles. Next week we will begin photography. As a reminder, students do not need to have their own camera equipment. In addition to our classwork, we will be working on an interdisciplinary unit with our Robotics teacher at MPMS. Students interested in video game design need to understand both Color Theory and Coding. Since we have been covering Color Theory in Digital Media and Robotics have been learning code, this is a great time to show students how the different CTE courses connect together for future jobs and/or skills they will need.
I will be pushing out assignments through Google Classroom this week. If you have not accepted the invitation to view your child's work, please do so. If for some reason you are unable to access Google Classroom, please let me know and I will try to help you out. As always, we will have tutorials on Thursday, October 5, from 3:35-4:30 in room 131. Please remind your child that it is important to meet deadlines and do their best on all assignments.
